-Do you have Export sales/ International Sales experience in the construction industry? Do you sell a technically led product, generating demand with the contractor, fit out company, architect & specifier & then backsell through the distributor? Paying up to £48k basic, plus benefits. Based in the UK, we have 2 roles with this company. One is covering largely Europe and the other is the Far East. Both roles will involve travelling circa 10 days+ per month.


- Our client is a genuine market leading manufacturer of passive fire systems, used in the built environment.

- The range includes fire barriers, fire curtain barriers, fire shutters, smoke curtains, used in both domestic and commercial buildings. Projects include shopping centres, high rise buildings, commercial offices, museums and historic buildings, hotels, restaurants, stadia, schools, hospitals, manufacturing and industrial plants.

- Our client is well established, with a multi-million pounds turnover and a global presence.


- Based from their South coast office, the roles of Export Sales Manager, International sales will be typically 60% internal, 40% overseas, covering the Far East, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, The Commonwealth of Independent States, Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines etc. The European role will cover Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Southern Europe, the Balkan states, plus potentially South Africa and some of South America.

- You will work with clients in the UK that have overseas projects, as well as developing strong relationships with your distribution partners across the Far East.

- The Export Sales Manager, International sales executive will help generate demand, by gaining specifications with Architects, specifiers, M&E consultants, main and sub contractors and then backsell via your distributor. Typically you will work with 1 or 2 key distribution partners in each country across your region. You will proactively support your distributors on projects, on marketing and influencing for building standards, compliance and legislation in the various countries.

- Project values for the fire and smoke protection solutions could range from £50k- £1million+

- As Export sales manager, International Sales executive, you'll be tasked with identifying, developing and opening up new markets, you'll research the barriers to entry, understand what fire regulations their buildings need to comply with etc.

- This is quite a lengthy design and tender role, so you'll need to be good at project tracking.

- You will also spend time as an exhibitor at trade shows and industry events, both in the UK and the Far East.

- You will be working towards a multi-million pounds target.


- As Export Sales Manager, you will have international sales experience, with a technically orientated product in the construction industry and be project led.

- If you have sold in the passive fire market then great, but most importantly, you would have sold to architects, specifiers, main and sub contractors and client end users overseas and then backsold through the distributor.

- You will have good stability in your career and a track record of sales success.

- A 2nd language would be advantageous.

- Experience of selling an aligned product would be great- i.e- industrial doors, lifts, escalators, commercial doors, HVAC, partitioning, ceilings, door and window hardware, ironmongery, lighting, cable management.

- A good influencer and pursuader.

- The Export Sales Manager will be results driven, a good communicator, organised, professional, IT literate and a good team player.

- You would have sold products within the "high end" commercial construction market and worked in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

- You will have worked in a project orientated or heavily bespoke product environment.

- My client will also consider a project manager, with language skills and experience in the passive fire industry, or something closely aligned, if they have a sales led personality, as they are prepared to teach and coach sales skills.


- £42K-£48K Basic salary

- Discretionary profit share

- 24 days holiday, plus 8 statutory days.
