Are you a recent Chemistry graduate eager to make a difference? We’re representing a well-established Waste Management Business in Bunrtwood, renowned for acquiring numerous businesses and placing a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability.

Position Available: Technical Assessor

Qualifications to apply:

** A DEGREE IN CHEMISTRY OR EQUIVALENT **
You MUST also live, close to Staffordshire – we don’t want you to have an hour commute!
Hours: Monday – Friday – 8:30am- 5pm

As a Technical Assessor, your primary objective is to become the go-to expert for technical and commercial aspects within a designated geographical region. You’ll play a vital role in building and nurturing robust business relationships, ensuring the efficiency of technical assessments, routing, and pricing for waste streams. Your responsibilities encompass cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the growth of revenue and gross margin, and aligning with the company’s strategic vision.

Main Duties:

*Continuous Learning: Stay updated on disposal routes, market demands, and potential issues to provide commercially viable waste stream options.
*Process Understanding: Familiarize yourself with the assessment’s role in workflow efficiency and understand treatment and transfer processes at all company facilities.
*Pre-Acceptance Guarantee: Ensure that pre-acceptance processes are completed before waste arrives at any site.
*Technical Assessment and Pricing: Evaluate and price all inquiries in line with company procedures, sector guidance, and operational requirements.
*Communication: Effectively communicate assessment, routing, and commercial information to relevant stakeholders using company procedures and systems.
*Sampling Coordination: Arrange relevant waste sampling, if applicable, to inform the pre-acceptance/acceptance process.
*Analysis Review: Review completed analyses and make routing recommendations based on the findings.
*Collaboration: Communicate and approve routing decisions with operations and logistics colleagues to ensure excellent client service.
*Non-Conformity Resolution: Support non-conformity and corrective action procedures to communicate resolutions, maintaining compliance and revenue.

Additional Duties:

*Develop a sound knowledge of treatment processes at all facilities and provide guidance to customers on waste segregation, packaging, and labelling.
*Support overall company objectives and aims.
*Prioritize safety and health, reporting incidents and contributing to a culture of wellbeing.
*Collaborate with other departments, offering technical, commercial, and compliance information.
*Comply with energy and resource-saving activities.
*Champion a “right first time” culture for zero non-conformities and accidents/incidents.
*Identify and advocate continual improvement opportunities.
